what i know

hi efurrybuddy! thanks for all the nice comments you left on my last post. it's takin' me a little while to get to visit efurrybuddy - Buzz could read faster than me, but i'm tryin' my bestest.

okay, so it looks like i got a meezer for a buddy. i think i'm okay with that. i like to talk, but he talks way more than me. but it's funny 'cause he's not really givin' me much info. here's what i know so far:

he's 'bout 5 years old, FIV+ (like me), super-friendly, way too skinny, and anemic. he was rescued right near Dr. Wendy's office. but he hasn't told me his name or how he come he got outside by himself. he took some tests at Dr. Wendy's and so far things look okay for him. but my mom says that he hasta take one of the tests again (feline leukemia) in a month so that we'll know fur sure that he can't make me sick. my mom says that she & my Jim hafta be real careful and wash their hands lotz after they touch him before they touch me. and 'course he's in a room by himself so we don't fight or eat/drink from the same bowl or use the same potty box.

my mom says that they are really hopin' his test comes back okay 'cause she & my Jim are already "attached" to him and would be too sad if he couldn't live with our family. i don't get how he's attached 'cause when they come outta his room, he's not even with them . . .

okay, i'm gonna go get caught-up with efurrybuddy in the blog world now . . . bye.

He looks like your Mom needs to fatten him up. He should enjoy that. :)

Hey, I think this is a great thing. New kitties in the house are great fun. I didn't like my brother Clyde at first, but now I can't imagine life without him.

Hi Meep! Hope his tests come out really good too. Your mom and Jim are super people to get you a new sib. Too bad you'll have to talk through a door for awhile but it's for the best. My bro had giardia (sp?) when he came to us and I couldn't see him for two weeks and mom had to wash her hands so much they got all dry and cracked. Tell them to use lots of body butter on their hands that helped my mom.

He looks pretty cute, Meep. I hope his tests come out OK. I wonder if there's a test for RTS (restless tail syndrome)--my sis has that and I get smacked with her tail all the time. So you might need to be careful if he has it too.

Hey, I just looked at your mom's photos and I think you're lucky you don't have a new sea otter bro! They're cute and all but they seem like they could squish a cat if play got too rough, and you wouldn't want that. I think the squirrel might have been OK, though.

Tell your Jim and Mommy that there is a special place in heaven to people who adopt a 5 year old Meezer instead of a kitten. I give them a 4 tail salute!
Smooches to you and hopefully your new brother!

I agree with Parker. Anyone can adopt a healthy kitten. It takes someone with a heart the size of a mountain to adopt a older FIV+ cat.

Even though they can live longer lives, the FIV will shorten it. You are both angels in my book.

Purrayers that your Meezer is Leukemia free.

You mean this meezer is gonna live in your house for a month before you can meet him? That is getting close to cat abuse. At least you can explain the house rules to him through the door.

hmmmm maybe he is "attached" by velcro so he can be "unattached" when necessary. I don't like velcro on my paws.

I'm glad you have a new buddy and hope he gets to stay with you. It is so cool your beans have rescued another FIV+ cat. My VET says that even if my beans got another FIV+ cat, I am not the type to accept a new cat. This makes my mommy sad cause she wishes she could rescue another kitty. I say, my toys, my couch, my food.
Just kidding. I'm very happy for your beans. They are good people. Big hugs and crossing paws all those test come back great! I can't wait until he tells you his name.
