losing our little man

Hello everyone. Despite the very best efforts of Dr. Philibert & JP Buzzerbee himself, we are losing our little man.
Although we have attacked it with the best protocols possible, that vicious, disgusting, hateful cancer has taken hold of poor Buzzy's chest. Without subjecting the poor boy to hours of chemo drips and feeding-tubes, there is nothing more we can do to help our little boy fight. And at best, those efforts would buy us a week or two at most. Jim & I can't ask Buzzy to go thru all of that now, when he hasn't even been able to eat for a week.
We've all heard the phrase, "Say when . . . " well, we are saying "when" for our little man. The past 6 months have been so hard on him; it's just not fair to ask him to fight anymore.
With extremely heavy hearts, we have made an appointment for him on Thursday at 9:30 am. We ask that everyone understand our decision to let our little man go to a place where there is no cancer and no suffering.
We may post again soon, or we may need to take some time off; just not sure at this point.
Thank you all so very much for all of your care & support - it truly does mean the world to all of us.

My mama has done this before, and it doesn't get easier, she said. After putting one of her little ones through a lot of "stuff" she said it is wiser and more loving to just send them to the bridge, which she did with the One I was With for a Couple Years.
Please, our hearts and purrayers are with you.
Have courage, and be there for the end. That is what love is....

the Serenity Prayer applies here:
"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."
You are wise to know that it is Buzzerbee's time and to not make him suffer.
We are sad you are losing a member of your family. We will light a candle to light his way to the Rainbow Bridge.
Hugs,

How sad for you. Buzzerbee will be at peace and you'll be left behind, that is the truly difficult part. That we miss them so much, that they take a piece of our heart when they go, that to us, it's a lifetime of waiting to be with them again. These are the hardest part of letting them go. The easy part is their peace and knowing that there will be no more pain or suffering. We'll be praying for you and Meep and Jim and all of those who love Buzzerbee.

Seven, I spent pursuing foolish adventures;

We were very sorry to hear about Buzzerbee but we know it was the right decision. My sister Hattie had cancer too and she had to go to the Bridge three years ago so she will be waiting to welcome Buzz too.

Please give Meep lots of cuddles and purrs from us.

I am so sorry. You did the right thing though. Years ago, we were faced with the same issue of an aggressive bone tumor growth on a kitty we saved from drowning. We opted to let Dunkin rest quietly and leave the world in peace versus subjecting her to more stress and only a little more time with us.

Bless your hearts- this is never easy

Buzz, you are one of the first cats I met in the blogosphere. I'm sorry I haven't commented more often. You have been a wonderful and loving member of your family, and now it's time for your work to be done. We are going to miss you. Harlie and I (and all the cats in the blogs) are glad that you found a the loving family that you deserve, and that they have your happiness and best interests at heart. We will all do our best to comfort them, because we know their pain. But the most important thing is that you will no longer feel pain, and we can all take comfort in that. Rest well, good friend.

How terribly sad to lose one so loved! What good kitty parents to do the right (but oh so hard) thing. Hugs of support to all of you during this hard time.

Buzzerbee - safe journeys to the Rainbow Bridge little man and know that your family will join you there someday.
