We are not an attorney at paw, but it occurs to us that the item in question is a scratching box. Was Gracie scratching the scratching box? Well then, she is innocent! :-)
Did she crew it or scratch it? Better she do that to the box than you... you know how sisters can be.

We agree with the non-attorney comment, she is innocent. A scratching box is for scratching. No crime committed. However, we suggest you reconsider the consequences of her NOT having a scratching box to scratch. Yeah, right, it could have been ....
