another sad day

Early this morning, we had to help Bear to the Bridge.

It seems he must have had a heart condition that went undiagnosed.  All the fluids that were supposed to help ease his CRF were too much for him to handle, and last night he went into heart failure.  At midnight we took him to an emergency vet.  There was just nothing that could be  done to help our little boy.
We knew that because of the CRF we wouldn't have very much time with Bear, but we were not prepared to have to say good-bye last night.
In our hearts we know that Bear is with Buzzy & meep at the Bridge, but we are just missing all of our boys so much.

Our eyes just won't stop leaking now - we're so sorry that you had to say goodbye to the magnificant Bear, especially that he's left so soon after Meep. You did everything you could for all of your boys, and we believe that they had the most wonderful forever home with you, even if their time was cut short. Please accept our condolences for your loss. Sending our purrs and purrayers to both of you, and to Twizzler, 'cos we understand that you're all hurting, and missing the boys.

Dearest Meep and Bear,

We just got to know you, such warm and friendly cats. Our hearts ache for your family, they loved you so...

I found this story, told by a young boy when someone said "I wish our pets lived as long as us."

"Everybody is born
so that they can learn
how to live a good life,
like loving every one
and being nice.

Animals already know
how to do that, so they
don't have to stay as long."

We are so sad for your loss. This just brings us memories of our last year where we lost 3 of our boys in less than 5 months (Mikey, Benjamin and Lewis)...and we are left with holding on to memories of the good times, not the illness. We lost our Lewis like that, quickly and at the emergency vet not prepared. Take comfort in knowing you were there for all of them and they were loved like crazy to the final trip to the bridge.

We have been avid followers of first, Buzz and Meep's adventures and then Meep and Bear and then Meep, Bear and Twizz.

Twizz, it must seem very confusing to you right now. But know this...Your mom and dad are two of the most wonderful people in the world who take into their hearts kitties like Buzz and Meep and Bear and you. And that they will love all of you forever even when they have to say goodbye. We don't know what words to say to let your mom and dad know how amazing we think they are for daring to love so largely.
